Mid Hills Netball Association
Our Story
Established in 1948, Mid Hills Netball Association is based at the Woodside Recreation Grounds with clubroom facilities and 18 courts. 15 Affilated clubs compete over the Winter season, across junior and senior grades.
With a proud history of great people involved over our 75 years, the Association is committed to continual progress. Providing development opportunties for our players, coaches and umpires is an on going focus, as we look to build the personnel resources within our clubs and strenghten our competition

Meet the team
Mid Hills Netball Association - Historic Timeline
1948 - Mid Hills Basketball Association formed. Mrs Margaret Chapman President.
1956 - Association growing with 8 A grade teams, 15 B grade and 9 C grade teams.
1971 - Name changed to Mid Hills Netball Association with teams playing at courts at
Lobethal, Mt Barker High School and Oakbank Area School.
1974 - Gleeson Boots convinces Association of the benefits of a complex, where all games
are played at the same venue.
1974 - Charlie Swinbourne and Glee Boots start to search for suitable land.
1977 - Agreement in principle for use of land at Woodside belonging to Education Dept.
1979 - Construction of courts commences in February 1979 and finishes March 1979.
1979 - Courts officially opened on 23/6/1979.
1980 - Wire perimeter fence constructed.
1981 - Court lighting installed at a cost of $15,000.
1981 - Council purchases land from Education Dept.
1983 - First male President of Association elected (Mr Rodney Green)
1985 - Quote of $150,000 for construction of clubrooms approved.
1986 - Construction of clubrooms commenced in January 86.
1986 - Clubrooms opened on 16th August 1986.
1992 - Clubrooms fully paid for 3 years ahead of time.
2011 - Construction of 3 new, dual purpose Netball/Tennis courts finished.
2013/14 - Installation of digital audio visual and PA equipment across facility.
2014 – New Canteen installed and construction of new storage shed completed.
2015 – Re-Construction of Courts 1,2 and 3.
2016 – Mid Hills decides to concentrate on local competition and withdraws from Courier League.
2017 – Re-construction of courts 4,9 and 10.
2017 – Season commences with new A grade competition and introduction of A2 Grade.
2018/21 - Lights on courts 1-12 replaced with latest LED lights.
Women’s and men’s bathrooms and office upgraded.
